Harry Wilson transfer back on the cards at Leeds after latest Fulham update

Leeds United could be set to reignite their interest in signing Harry Wilson.

Wilson was heavily linked with a move to Leeds in the summer, with the Whites having worked on a deal until the final minutes of the window.

However, the move failed to materialise, and the Welshman would remain with Fulham, where he has since registered five goals and four assists in 21 appearances.

Wilson has been a regular under Marco Silva, though the latest update from Craven Cottage suggests that a January deal could be revived.

Fulham may be open to Harry Wilson exit

While Wilson has been a regular starter for Fulham this season, they will also be wary of the fact that they could lose him for free in six months.

His contract is up at the end of the campaign, and January could prove to be the final chance they have of recouping some of the £12million they spent to sign him from Liverpool in 2021.

A report from the Mirror states that “Fulham may entertain bids” for Wilson as a result of this.

To lose a key player in January would be a blow for the Cottagers, but if Leeds are to push forward with a deal, it would tick a lot of boxes.

While Brenden Aaronson has showcased his worth in recent weeks, the Whites are in desperate need of a new right-wing option, and Wilson would be perfect.

Wilson offers more than any other Leeds winger based on key metric

Wilson’s set-piece ability is a big draw for him, and while Leeds have fared fairly well in those scenarios, his arrival would only improve that.

However, the Wales international also creates from open play, more so than any of Leeds United’s current wingers.

Via FotMob, Wilson has created 18 chances in the Premier League this season, with an average of 1.2 per game.

Noah Okafor is the closest to him with 11, though it’s also worth noting that he has been playing as part of a front two in recent weeks.

Out of every Leeds player this season, only Sean Longstaff and Anton Stach have created more chances than Wilson.
